This is a truly momentous and long-anticipated day for us all here at Liz Earle Beauty Co. so there really should be the written equivalent of a trumpet fanfare right here and now!! For so many years we have been the proud purveyors of Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare – and now we are adding a whole new dimension with our launch today of Naturally Active Haircare. Shampoo and conditioner have long been the most frequently requested products for us to develop. When we started our research for these more than six years ago, we asked our customers what kinds of products they would most like us to create. We had a staggering response – over 20,000 of you kindly wrote in answer to our questionnaire (many of you writing pages of detailed information as to what you would really like). From this incredible research, our team has worked tirelessly over the years to formulate a truly exceptional set of haircare products.
Creating one naturally-based shampoo for all hair types, free from sodium lauryl sulphate, laureth and olefin sulphates (all of which can irritate sensitive scalps) has been a real challenge for us, which is why it has taken so long. Mainly because the usual more naturally-derived foaming ingredients don’t perform very well as washing agents. They tend not to foam properly, can strip or fade colour-treated hair and cause static. We know this because we tested over 100 different formulations using many different kinds of ingredients. Then, our team discovered a new breakthrough ingredient which does deliver outstanding amounts of foamy lather that gently cleanses without stripping, drying or irritating hair or scalp.
We have tested our new shampoo on very many different hair types, from fine limp hair to thick coarse hair, young children’s hair, older thinning hair, fine, wiry, colour-treated, permed – you name it, we have been there and tested on it! And the most exciting news of all is that our new shampoo works wonderfully well on all hair types. Yes – just as Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser works for all skin types, so Botanical Shine Shampoo works well for all hair types. How fantastic is that? No more confusion when we are faced with a baffling array of different shampoos, wondering which one to choose. We have taken away all the guesswork and very carefully formulated one shampoo which delivers gentle cleansing and outstanding shine for everyone. Excitingly for me personally is the fact that our new genius shampoo doesn’t irritate my very sensitive, eczema-prone scalp and all my problems
with itching and flaking are truly a thing of the past. What a wonderful result.
In the same way that we have three Skin Repair Moisturisers for each skin type, so we have created three conditioners, depending on your hair type. Each one of our new Botanical Shine Conditioners contains key botanical ingredients to seriously condition and shine, depending on whether you have fine hair that needs light conditioning; normal hair that requires a little more nourishment, or dry / processed hair that benefits from a more deeply moisture-enriching formula. We have a conditioner to perfectly suit your individual needs and you will be amazed at how little of these silicon-free formulations you need to create the glossiest, healthiest-looking hair. Each of our three Botanical Shine Conditioners is based on natural plant oils (not silicons or mineral oils) and contains a wonderful native ingredient, found locally here on the Isle of Wight, called blue sea kale (also known as sea cabbage) which is an excellent anti-fade ingredient to keep processed hair colour-safe. Fabulous. My hair is fine and highlighted so was a bit worried about whether I would be able to comb it through as its always difficult. I was advised to try the conditioner for normal hair as the one for damaged hair might be too heavy. I was amazed to see that I had no problems.

Wow. What can I say that hasn’t already been said. After using the samples I was hooked and ordered my shampoo and conditioner straight away. It came soooo quickly as well and arrived just as I came back from a week under canvas with some of the children at the school where I work!!!!!! What luxury to use. You only need a very small amount so it will be very economical. I usually have trouble with conditioners making my hair feel ‘heavy and lank’ as my hair is quite fine and oily but the oily conditioner is great. Well done all.

Been looking forward to the launch. Been fed up as hit menopause and everything’s looking older, specially hair which has always been my best bit (!) I don’t mind it going grey but it’s also going wiry and – shriek horror – I think it’s thinning. BUT there is hope. I received your samples and used straight away, trying not to hope too much (have tried big names on QVC without success), but oh, what a great result. Couldn’t stop looking at my hair and putting fingers through. I feel uplifted – THANK YOU. And what’s more, the results are ongoing. I too would like a toothpaste….

i purchased your new shampoo and conditioner for dry/processed hair yesterday from one of your outlets at John Lewis, i used it straight away and i am really amazed with the results, my hair is highlighted and has been for over 20 years, and i straighten it on a regular basis, but your shampoo and conditioner has made it so soft and manageable, and the smell is wonderful, infact today at work many people made comments on how it looked and smelt and a couple of people thought i had had it coloured again due to it looking so shiny, and healthy, i was sceptable as i usually use a shampoo specifically for processed hair, put i did not need it, and you need such a small amount it will last ages, it is not overpriced and i will definately buy it again once i have run out. thank you liz earle another product of yours to add to my list, you have pretty much taken over all my face and body care products now !!

I decided to challenge it and use a tiny amount compared to my usual shampoo, just the size of a 5p, rubbed my hands together to spread it then applied it to my hair and it was ample for my thick just below the shoulder hair.
The conditioner was the same and did a great job on my very dry highlighted hair. Because I swim a lot it’s always crying out for moisture and the dry/damaged conditioner was perfect for it.
No horrible itchy scalp either, many thanks.

I requested Shampoo and Conditioner 12 years ago and I have to say after using my products for the first time this morning they WERE worth the wait. Unlike other brands that rush to get their products on the shelves and put no thought into the ingredients Liz and her team have surpassed themselves and got it right first time.
I colour and straighten my hair so I opted for the DRY/DAMAGED option in the conditioner and I have to say it’s wonderful, the texture is creamy while the scent is beautiful and it really does work, my hair has never looked so shiny. The shampoo works wonderfully leaving my hair feeling super clean. Now all I need is for Liz to super size the products in pump bottles so I don’t have to keep ordering so frequently. Thanks Liz!

Been using the shampoo and normal hair conditioner for a week now and really, really like them. Hair seems to be getting softer with each use. Defiantly do not need a lot of the shampoo which I found out after the first use when I decided to wash my hair twice (bubbles for ever more!!). I have also found that if I leave my hair to dry naturally for as long as possible before attacking it with the hairdryer my hair seems to be softer than if I dry it straight after a wash (might be because I am desperate for a hair cut, but trying to grow it so leaving it for a long as possible before my next cut).
My only annoyance is that when my Mum place our joint order she was told that the shampoo and conditioners were not out yet in travel size, but today I see them on the website – oh well will just have to decant them into smaller bottles for my up coming holiday, because I try to give my hair a break from the hairdryer while on holiday and if this last week is anything to go by I know my hair should be just fine after a day in the sun and pool.

The shampoo felt creamy and silky to use and rinsed out well. The conditioner was really rich.

I was so excited when my shampoo and conditioner arrived a few days ago and couldn’t wait to try it. As I badly broke my wrist in June and have had complications, I cannot wash my own hair so my partner has to do it for me. What can I say. The smell of both the shampoo and conditioner is so uplifting and gorgeous its a pure pleasure to use. The shampoo really cleans my hair and the conditioner is fantastic. Having just returned from holiday and enjoyed using all the Liz Earle products while I was away including the sun creams I couldn’t believe my luck when I stopped at John Lewis in Liverpool on my way back to the Isle of Man and the hair care was being launched! Got back from my holiday last night – ten days of sun and chlorine damage to my very long, very dry hair – and discovered your samples at home. Used them this morning and I am really impressed. New shampoos usually cause my psoriasis to flare up straight away – but my scalp feels absolutely fine. Will probably need the dry/damaged conditioner, but the normal hair conditioner did fantastically well – especially considering what it had to work with… When my current regular haircare range runs out, I will definitely be buying Liz Earle. 500ml sizes would make me even happier.

Really love the new shampoo and conditioner – congratulations on another great success! In answer to the people who are asking for styling products, I have found that for the first time I don’t actually need any mousse or gel to style my hair. The shampoo and conditioner alone make my hair soft and full of body, and I love the fact that I don’t have to use anything else. Have struggled for years to find shampoos that don’t cause itching (even some of the natural and organic ones have not worked for me), so I am delighted to have an itch-free head! Also, the lather is so creamy whereas other natural products sometimes have a strange dryness about them and don’t ‘spread’ properly. This new shampoo is a delight to use and I don’t even have to use the size of a 10p each time, more like 5p, so I think it will also be very economical. I received my hair care products Friday and couldn’t wait to use them. They are wonderful, you really do need only a small amount of the shampoo and the scent is fabulous. But most important is the end result, my hair looks and feels great, my highlights seem brighter and I didn’t even blow dry my hair just let it dry naturally.

Much to my surpise, the postman arrived at 7.15am on Wednesday, 1st September with my order from Liz Earle and so by 7.30am I was in the shower with my new haircare products. Normally, after having washed my dry, colour damaged hair it feels matted and horrible and I do not think I would be able to comb it if I did not use conditioner first. However, after using my Liz Earle Shampoo, my hair felt lovely and soft. I did, of course, use my conditioner as well, and my hair is now lovely and soft, healthier looking and has a great shine to it. Well done to all at Liz Earle – another success story.

And now my hair is going to not only look beautiful, but if it has even half of the heavenly smell of all of your other products, then I shall smell of Liz Earle from top to toe!!!!!!!!! The smell of the shampoo is fantastic, really fresh and zingy and the conditioner has made my hair feel velvety and very sleek. I purchased the oily hair conditioner so will let you all know how it fares over the next couple of days. My first impression is that these haircare products are going to be as brilliant as all the rest of the LE products. How long do we have to wait before the styling products range to arrive!!!
