Abigail’s winter skincare saviours

|

With biting winds, chilly temperatures and blasts of central heating, winter is a season that undoubtedly takes a toll on your skin. As a facialist, come November, I tend to have an influx of clients who are keen for me to soothe and restore the appearance of their complexions. While a pampering facial treatment can work wonders for your skin and soul, it’s also possible to nurture skin from the comfort of your own home. Boosting your beauty routine with the right botanicals is vital, as each season calls for a tailored approach. Not sure what formulations to use or when? Here’s my step-by-step guide for helping to achieve wonderful skin this winter.

Treat your eyes to TLC
Dark circles under your eyes can make you look more tired than you feel, and while you can wrap up warm in gloves and scarves, harsh weather conditions can really start to take their toll on the exposed eye area.

All is not lost though – Superskin™ Eye Cream is formulated with pomegranate fruit and green tea extracts to help lessen the appearance of dark circles, to leave your eyes looking brighter and more awake.

Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise
When humidity levels outside begin to drop, the air becomes colder and drier, and as a result the water in your skin evaporates faster than usual. This can leave your complexion feeling tight and uncomfortable during the colder months.

Your botanical saviour here is Superskin™ Moisturiser. Featuring shea butter, it works wonders for soothing winter complexions and has been formulated with pomegranate flower, cranberry, borage and rosehip seed oils, to nourish and lock moisture onto skin.

Rebalance and restore
Beauty is as much about feeling good, as it is about looking good. That’s why, in the midst of winter, an aromatic botanical can be just as beneficial as one that helps to improve your skin. Neroli is my go-to scent when my spirits need soothing, and it’s also one of the pure essential oils (alongside lavender and chamomile) featured in Superskin™ Concentrate for Night.

Restorative and relaxing, I love to treat my skin to this luxurious facial oil in the evening, especially when I want to wind down. Feel-good scent aside, this rich, rebalancing treat is formulated with softening argan and organic rosehip oils, plus antioxidant natural source vitamin E – making it the perfect way to help rebalance skin that has been exposed to the elements.

Get your beauty sleep
Getting the most out of your beauty sleep will help you to wake up to your skin looking and feeling wonderful throughout winter. In conjunction with your normal daily 3-step routine, applying a night-time treatment such as Superskin™ Overnight Mask 1-2 times a week can help to visibly brighten your complexion.

Supercharged with extracts of Persian silk tree to brighten and even skin tone, plus buriti, borage, rosehip and cranberry seed oils to intensely nourish, winter-worn skin will seem like a distant dream come morning.
